Residential Housing Incentives

$30,000 for the first new unit, plus $8,000 per additional unit for multi-unit housing on the same property. "On the same property" is to be determined by the tax assessment (if the building/buildings all share the same address and tax assessment they are "on the same property". If multiple buildings are present and they sit on independent subdivided lots with independent addresses and tax assessments, they are not on the same property).
This includes single family homes, new RTMs, new modular homes, new mobile homes, tiny homes, apartments, condos, and townhomes. Garage suites, basement suites, and backyard suites qualify for the $8,000 additional unit incentive.

NOTE: All of the above must first obtain a "Development Permit" and a "Building Permit" from the Municipal Office.

Reduction of roof overhangs on side setbacks to 12" to maintain eave consistency.
Allow 50' corner lots in approved areas, to be used for three multi-family units.
Implementation of general building & ARCH (architectural) site design controls to ensure new housing can more easily adhere to existing residential design expectations.
Will also incorporate new community guidelines for interpreting local regulations and design guidelines for primary dwellings.

In order for a basement suite to qualify, it must be a legal basement suite and a permit will need to be obtained from the Town of Moosomin Office.
Legal basement suites qualify for an $8,000 grant from the Town of Moosomin.
