Director of Public Works and Utilities
The Town of Moosomin is a progressive and developing community of approximately 3,000 people on the southeastern edge of Saskatchewan, approximately 222 kms east of Regina and situated on the Trans-Canada Highway. Noted for its pleasant residential neighbourhoods, Moosomin also has a diversified economy, including agriculture, oil, gas and potash mining and a complete range of services from quality health care, to recreation and education facilities.
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the successful candidate will be a proven leader supplemented with a Certified Civil Engineering Technologist designation with prior supervisory or management experience in a municipal public works setting. With a valid driver's license equivalent to Saskatchewan Class 5, the successful candidate will be responsible for directing the overall planning, budget control, coordination and implementation of all activities and business affairs of the Public Works and Utilities Department.
You should also possess skill in water and waste water operations, community planning and working with property developers plus have well developed written and verbal communication skills. The incumbent is also expected to relate to and communicate with customers, co-workers, contractors and the general public in a congenial and courteous manner.
Certification as issued by the Saskatchewan Operator Certification Board, for the classification of Water Treatment 2, Water Distribution 2, Waste Water Collection 2, and Waste Water Treatment 1, would be considered an asset.
